“The Struggle Continues”

Speaker: Rev. Art Severance – Minister Emeritus,

First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio

This Sunday, we honor Martin Luther King, Jr, the great Civil Rights Activist (who once considered becoming a Unitarian Universalist because of our liberal stance on race). We still struggle with racism as a culture, a country and a denomination. It sometimes seems like the Civil War continues. Our country seems more divided than ever. There is still a Dream. I believe Love will win.

Congregational Business Meeting (CBM):

Carol West:

Want to be more involved at the Fellowship?  There are many different ways to help out:  greeting people as they arrive on Sunday morning, helping with the opening and closing tasks, being a Lay Leader………… Talk with any Board member about what is needed and what you are interested in doing.

Barbara Cavin:

Next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up an extra can of tuna, jar of peanut butter, bag of rice, can of chili, or any other non-perishable food item and bring it with you to the Fellowship on Sunday, put it in the food basket in the lobby, and I will take it to Longview Community Ministries to help feed the poor and hungry of our community.

Carol West:

We are collecting toiletries for Newgate Mission. Please bring your donations with you to the Fellowship on Sunday, put it in the box in the lobby, and they will be delivered to the mission.
