Economic Issues Are Moral Issues
Speaker: Dr. Brent Beal, UT Tyler
The Christmas tree is up in the lobby and strung with lights! Now it needs some ornaments. The theme is DIVERSITY. Do you have something you would like to contribute? Something you already have or would like to make? Just bring it and hang it in its perfect spot!
Our annual Christmas party and pot luck dinner will be held at the Fellowship on Friday, December 14th beginning at 6:00 PM. Bring a wrapped new or used gift for the gift exchange and non-perishable food items to be donated to Longview Community Ministries.
There is a sign-up sheet at the Fellowship where you can indicate what you will be bringing for the pot luck dinner and, hopefully, we will end up with a balanced meal.
And we are still continuing to collect teddy bears and other stuffed animals which will be donated to local women and children’s shelters. There is a box in the lobby for your donations.
And we will be learning about the winter holidays celebrated by different faiths (Hanukkah, winter solstice, Hindu Festival of Light, Christian traditions, Kwanza, etc.) Can you tell us about this tradition? Do you have a story about a personal experience? We would love to hear it!
