Why Does the World Need UUism?
I was asked this question years ago and immediately started an answer.
I’ll share some of it on Sunday.
Speaker: Daniel Polk, Executive Director, NTUUC
(North Texas Unitarian Universalist Congregations)
Our Annual Congregational Business Meeting
will be held following the service this Sunday (November 11th).
The agenda is posted on the UUFL website (https://www.uuflongview.org/).
All members and friends are urged to attend this important meeting.
The North Texas Unitarian Universalist Congregations is an association of 13 UU churches/fellowships in north Texas, of which our Longview Fellowship is a member. There is a summit scheduled for Saturday, November 10th (9:30 – 12:30) in Dallas to discuss upcoming projects and initiatives. The purpose of the summit is to gather ideas and prioritize what our interests and needs are.
Tracy and Madonna will be there to represent our Fellowship. If anyone else is interested in attending, the RSVP is RSVPsummit@ntuuc.org
For more information, contact Tracy Webster at 903-452-1647.
If you like to take photos (on your cell phone, etc.), Tina would like to have them for our Webpage and/or FB page.
We would like pics of speakers, you and your friends and family here – just to let people know what we’re like!
You can send them to her at – firstname.lastname@example.org
We’re looking for people who like to sing and would like to be part of a small “choir” for a program of Christmas music on Dec. 23 –

We need two or three people to organize this year’s Winter Holidays Pot Luck and White Elephant Gift Exchange party. If you are interested in helping with this, please contact me at 903-918-1205 or firstname.lastname@example.org
I am happy to report that the healing process continues to go well for Susan Crane. The second surgery on her foot tendon is scheduled for November 13th and then she will spend another two months at the Heritage rehabilitation center in Longview. As you can imagine, this gets to be a long time to be away from one’s home. Susan enjoys being able to go to the store or to visit Bosco (her dog) occasionally. Would you like to help Susan by giving her a ride? If so, please give her a call (903-932-1571) to see if something can be worked out. Thank you!
Stars Over Longview
Barbara McDaniel has been chosen a Star Over Longview. The Celebration of Stars will take place at Maude Cobb on January 10th. The doors open at 11:30 and the luncheon will be served at 12:00. The cost for a ticket is $30.00. It is possible Barbara can get you a ticket for $25.00 if she purchases the ticket for you. We are uncertain if there is a cut-off date to get $25.00 tickets.
This year’s keynote speaker is Caitlyn Crosby, actress, singer, songwriter and CEO and founder of The Giving Keys.
If you are interested in attending this celebration, please contact Barbara at email@example.com

Christmas Teddy Bear Project
Any bear or other stuffed animal, new or used (in good condition), is welcome to join our Christmas project. Just bring your donations to the Fellowship and put them in the Christmas Teddy Bear box in the lobby.
Next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up an extra can of tuna, jar of peanut butter, bag of rice, can of chili, or any other non-perishable food item and bring it with you to the Fellowship on Sunday and put it in the food basket in the lobby and I will take it to Longview Community Ministries to help feed the poor and hungry of our community.
