NE TX Habitat for Humanity wants us to know the dedication for the house built for Ebony Wilson is Thursday, August 30th at 5:30 PM at 615 Texas Street in Longview. This is the home partially built with funds from John Phillips. Several of our members attended the slab blessing and I think they will want to know. I won’t be able to go, but hopefully others will.

Huey Mitchell:
Several people expressed interest in seeing the play “Driving Miss Daisy” when they learned about it from Eddie Turner who was on the UUFL panel “Living Black in the Piney Woods of East Texas” in July. Mr. Turner will be performing the role of the chauffeur. If you enjoy live theater, here’s a chance to see some wonderful local talent!

Next time you’re at the grocery store, pick up an extra can of tuna, jar of peanut butter, bag of rice, can of chili, or any other non-perishable food item and bring it with you to the Fellowship on Sunday and put it in the food basket in the lobby and I will take it to Longview Community Ministries to help feed the poor and hungry of our community.
